Description

The ioSIP-REG module provides standard SIP registration capability for phones, devices, and softphones on the ioTRAN Cloud Communication Platform (ioPLATFORM) with class 5 Softswitch capabilities. The ioTRAN Cloud Communications platform supports the majority of standards-based SIP phones, devices, gateways, and softphones that either require SIP Registration or have the option. Without the ioSIP-REG module, you are required to support IP Authentication via our ioSIP-AUTH module to process calls and provide class 5 Softswitch features.

ioSIP-REG module integrates with the following modules:

• ioPBX – Integrated PBX functionality module
• ioTRUNK - Integrated SIP Trunk functionality module
• ioRESIDENTIAL - Integrated single line/residential service functionality module

This module is most often used in Hosted PBX, Residential, and some SIP Trunk environments. Most popular SIP Phones and ATAs require SIP registration capability before they will communicate with a class 5 Softswitch or IP PBX. Many carriers support SIP registration or IP authentication. If your carrier or device does not support SIP Registration, you need IP Authentication which requires the ioSIP-AUTH module.
