ioTRAN is a technology software developer with extensive experience in scalable platforms that ensure security, management, and multi-tenant access. Our flagship product, ioPLATFORM, includes multi-level access, white-label capabilities, and proprietary technologies that thoroughly enhance its security and reliability. With ioPLATFORM, the opportunities are endless due to its multi-tenant design structure and hierarchy. While the platform currently supports Hosted PBX and UCaaS, it is capable of supporting any reseller-centric product set. This includes complete billing, taxation, and payment processing, effectively delivering these services to the end customer.
In 2003, our initial software platform development began with one of the first white-label Hosted PBX platforms. This platform enabled service and telephony providers to generate highly profitable recurring revenue in a rapidly changing business telephony market. Our platform was also the first to market with a truly integrated billing and accounting engine. Meanwhile, competitors relied on third-party billing solutions, disconnecting their platform from the billing process and requiring additional login steps and time-consuming auditing. This gave ioTRAN the unique advantage of being the only solution on the market to decouple the carrier from the PBX. With ioTRAN, any change made in the platform updates the billing automatically.
In 2018, we embarked on developing our powerful next-generation, multi-tenant platform. This complete redesign aimed to address the rapidly growing demand for scalability, performance, and features. Although we could have continued to develop the original platform to maintain market pace, we made a strategic decision to advance the platform's core, providing a significant future advantage for both North American and international markets.
Technically, this new platform design provided monumental scalability, performance, and management gains. We started by adding ioBASE, our powerful centralized command center that allows each instance of ioPLATFORM to scale with advanced system information monitoring, simplified software update/patch delivery, and ioMODULE instant trial evaluations. Command line operations and configurations have been entirely replaced by the redesigned web portal GUI. An advanced API was introduced with the ability to sandbox, test, and provide 3rd party connectivity. A new concept of containerization between ioTRAN servers was developed to update new software releases and provide uninterrupted maintenance procedures. Network and IP Address management was implemented to improve customer deployment time and decrease potential technical issues. We added ioWALL, a self-learning, platform-specific firewall to provide advanced media, DoS/DDoS, threat management, and host intrusion protection. Integrated load balancing was introduced to improve performance and redundancy. Our internally developed high-availability processes, including ioRESTORE, provide hardware and application redundancy, as well as manual or automatic application failover.
In 2023, we released our new Class 5 Softswitch with UCaaS. The results were outstanding, and our initial early adopters saw the platform's potential for scalability and performance. The initial deployment gave ioTRAN the equivalent of 280 switches with a deployed capacity of 860,000 endpoints. Scaling this capacity requires a fraction of the deployment time and significantly reduces hardware costs. Deploying these systems anywhere in the world is now possible. Additionally, the underlying costs to deliver the services have been dramatically reduced, providing incredible price points to our customers without affecting quality or reliability.
Our most exciting addition to the platform was the ability to provide individual IP PBXs with a direct carrier connection. This functionality allowed us to address a large market space held by 3CX®, Asterisk®, and FreePBX®. The markets were driven solely by low price points with underlying open-source single PBXs. This offset the requirement to provide physical or virtual hardware, build virtual machines, interact with data centers, attach new carrier trunks to every new customer, and log in to multiple places for management and billing. As these particular providers grow, they begin to feel the pain points of managing disparate single IP PBXs. ioTRAN solves many of these problems by allowing them to continue with what they are familiar with today but with the option to move toward consolidation and centralization under a single login portal.
In 2024, we offer four services that address unique markets, each delivering a rich set of features. Competitors cannot fully deliver these white-label, multi-tenant Hosted PBX and UCaaS features without breaking functionality. This achievement marks a major milestone for our new-generation Softswitch and UCaaS technology, making us the best-kept secret in the industry.
- ioSaaS: This service takes our Softswitch and UCaaS solution into the SaaS realm, empowering medium to large service providers with the power and control of a high-performance Softswitch. It delivers Hosted PBX and UCaaS recurring services to all customers under a single login portal, including fully integrated billing, accounting, taxation, and payment processes. We manage the data centers, hardware, and software, removing the burden of developing and housing these complex systems. In this service, the customer brings their carrier relationships and maximizes profit margins by managing all carrier-related services, including numbers, porting, and technical issues.
- ioSaaS-PLUS: Also known as Talking Platforms, this white-label service caters to smaller service providers and resellers who are not quite ready for ioSaaS. It delivers all the features of ioSaaS, with the added benefit that we handle the carriers, numbers, and porting. That's the PLUS.
- ioSaaS-VAR: This service targets the single IP PBX market and the MSPs and VARs who deliver it to end-user companies. This market includes 3CX, Asterisk, and FreePBX. The service allows MSPs and VARs to buy individual PBX instances at a uniquely low price point and connect individual carrier trunks for billing while managing them from a single login in the ioSaaS partition format.
- ioSaaP: For large service providers who want to acquire our Softswitch and UCaaS solution, we offer the software as a purchase (SaaP). The software is available in modules, allowing providers the flexibility to purchase only the features they need. Once acquired, the service provider can install the software on their hardware and in data centers of their choice. We also offer professional services and support contracts to ensure quick and efficient customer buildout.
Throughout the years, ioTRAN has remained committed to leading the Unified Communications platform industry, empowering companies and organizations to achieve their goals through technology. There are no limits. New products and services outside the realm of Hosted PBX and UCaaS can be integrated directly into ioPLATFORM. We designed it to meet the demands of future requirements. This includes the addition of artificial intelligence (AI), 3rd party technologies, social media, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The current Hosted PBX and UCaaS market has consolidated into four main areas: the open-source single PBX (Asterisk/FreePBX), paid model single PBX (3CX), FreeSWITCH, and the NetSapiens-based softswitch. Each addresses a unique segment of the Hosted PBX and UCaaS market. ioTRAN stands out as the only company addressing all segments of the market. As the sole multi-tenant Softswitch platform company that remains independent, we are uniquely positioned to dominate the Hosted PBX & UCaaS market with our technology and wholly-owned intellectual property.
ioTRAN has been a privately held corporation, growing organically through reinvestment. Historically, we have declined investment offers from various entities. However, we now believe the time is right to seek outside investment and strategic partnerships. With our unique technology poised in the $20 billion hosted PBX and UCaaS market, which is projected to grow to $35 billion by 2030, we see significant opportunities. Many lucrative international markets are in the early stages of transitioning to Hosted PBX and UCaaS, with a crucial need for scalable, reliable service management. The single IP PBX market cannot effectively meet this requirement. Only a large multi-tenant Softswitch platform with unique capabilities, such as ioTRAN, can fulfill this need.
