Description

The ioDIRECT module provides automated routing features on the ioTRAN Cloud Communications Platform with class 5 Softswitch and UCaaS capabilities (ioPLATFORM). The module offers seamless functionality for applications where multiple carriers and inbound calls require less management, tighter integration, and more automation.

This module is commonly used when specific traffic pricing and features require multiple inbound carriers. Although limiting the number of inbound traffic providers may be advantageous, the capabilities and pricing requirements could necessitate the addition of multiple carriers, which would require more management and control. Moreover, if there are many access devices, several instances of edge servers (ioSWITCH) may be necessary to handle the combined calls and traffic. With ioDIRECT, multiple carrier trunks are eliminated to a single trunk. The ioDIRECT module simplifies the routing of inbound calls and day-to-day management.
