Description
The ioFAX module provides integrated IP-based Internet faxing capability on the ioTRAN class 5 Softswitch (ioPLATFORM). The requirement for facsimile-based communications is still applicable and required by many organizations. The ioFAX module allows users to receive faxes via e-mail as a PDF attachment and send faxes with file attachments through the unified management web portal interface. In addition, users can manage their received and sent faxes for archival purposes and redistribution.

The ioPLATFORM can also support traditional physical fax machines. This can be achieved by direct T.38 communications, analog to SIP converter (ATA), or media gateway. In addition, ioFAX can support inbound faxes while outbound faxes are sent through a physical fax machine. In either scenario, there is tight integration with the ioPLATFORM billing, accounting, and taxation engine.
